Installation Issue With Norton 360 V2

I am after some advice from the developers of Advanced WindowsCare Personal 2 please.

 

A user reports that the program fails to install and he gets an error message stating that some changes to the registry could not be made.

 

The only unusual manual change made by the user to the registry prior to installation is

HKCU\Control Panel\Desktop and for autoendtasks the default 0 is changed to 1.

 

If however, the above setting is returned to 0, the installation completes without errors.

 

Can the developers explain why their software might report errors during installation when autoendtasks is set to 1 please?

Although, I am not a developer of AWC and not using Norton,

FYI, my registry Data for the same entry is as follows:

________________________________________________Name_________Type_____Data

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control Panel\Desktop======>AutoEndTasks --- REG_SZ ---- 1

 

There has never been a problem in the installation of AWC2 Personal or Pro.

 

Could the reason be some other combination or restriction from Norton?
