Avast 6 IS vs AVG 2012 IS

Hi, Lyon275,

I've been using Avast for a number of years now and like it very much. I've never used AVG, but have heard many good reports about it. Avast has one big advantage over all the rest as far as I'm concerned in that it can perform a Boot Scan. The only slight hassle is that you have to re-register it every year, but it's free, so no problem, really.

AVG will do Boot-Scan also, or can be date/time scheduled.

Another one that I like is 'Stopzilla', but full version may no longer be free ?:

I don't mind paying a One-time charge for this type programs, but when thay start requesting Annual payments, I drop it, or just use free version.

We presently use AVG and Stopzilla, on different computers, and both have been paid for.
