Hi hollyotto! Welcome to Iobit forum!

I am assuming you don't mean that Iobit.com is your new homepage.

Try looking in the Extensions section of your add-ons... see if there is anything there concerning Iobit. If not, look in the other sections of add-ons, but it sound like something that would be in your extensions.

This Mozilla page may help.

Sincerely,

-Mel

Thanks for the advice Mel, I did as you advised and there were actually extensions for Iobit bar active. However once removed from extensions and even control panel add/remove programs the problem is still occurring.

I'm not running anything else in my add-on folder so not sure what else to try.

Look in your task manager to see if you can find any services associated with Yahoo and disable them, then see if the browser issue is resolved. Look in your start-up manager to see if anything Yahoo related is there and disable it.

Had you uninstalled the Iobit toolbar by Yahoo? If so how did you uninstall it?

You could try a clean install of FF to see if that helps.

Worst case scenario is that you will have to reinstall the toolbar, then remove it using Revo uninstaller, opting for the advanced function. But try the others first, and let me know then I will give detailed instructions concerning Revo.

Sincerely,

-Mel

Hey again Mel.

nothing related to Iobit or Yahoo in my task manager nor start-up manager.

I had uninstalled the Iobit toolbar by going to my control panels add/remove programs and it was listed there.

ended up deleting Firefox completely and downloaded the new FF aurora. no problems with it so far so it seems to be something in the settings that i had glitched.
