Do not Be a Stiff neck

here we go again

backing up your system

its not that complex...all you need to do is make a boot disk

that are made by the

back up program

I posted one in the software section ,tho very complex for the user like myself

that just needs to have the file on a different drive, shove in a booting disk and point to the back up

sit back let it restore the drive that went wrong....

with out the extra fuss or the added stuff that I personally would not be interested in.. far to much razzmatazz ...and not needed

plus getting to old to remember the one posted you need a diploma

and a heap of time,,

and the fact that is its not free thy have the boot disk pass-worded

or it will not boot..you need a name and KEY from them

and enter that on every boot...and that's ok

So back to macrium reflect-----

now you need to down load the free version And that will do all you need

to restore ----

tho if you want the extras the OK you pay for that....

why thy make them complicated I do not understand from a newbie view point

my idea simple and works is plenty

the windows one that is used is FINE but ,myself do not trust it

sometimes the back up gets corrupted or as in my experience fails to back up

Macrium however is almost fool proof

and simply easy to use just a tiny bit of concentration when Making A BACK up file

SO if its to late and you read this ,JUST put that down to learning....

Installing

how many times dear friends have you lost a perfect system

ether by blackouts or INSTALLS

and rebbooting fails

premature shut down... trying out a software product, and lost the flaming lot

let me tell you this many times trying out different things,

because that is computing!!

Now Do not Be a Stiff neck and learn a little from us here

we old guys and girls try to help out by posting many tips

its up to you to read a little and do not Just pass it of as rubbish

So my point Find A back up program and use it

Yes Sometime even I forget To do one A week

but on the whole if I lose my drive

I simply Do not Worry

IN with the Back up disk and 5 Min- later were back

Backup

Hi

Macrium certainly is great but I would also like to mention Paragon Backup & Recovery 2012 Free

I have a Netbook and it does not have a CD player/burner built-in, people mainly use a Netbook because they are small and light so carrying an external CD player/burner sort of defeats the pupose of having a Netbook

Paragon has a feature that creates a Rescue Flashdrive (or Rescue CD) it is so easy to use and I can tell you from experience it works perfectly. Macrium might introduce this feature as well, if they haven't already.

All that's required for the Rescue Flashdrive is a 1GB flashdrive and your backups (images) are saved on another external drive. A 1GB flashdrive is cheap to buy if you haven't got one lying around doing nothing (you can't put anything else on the Rescue Flashdrive)

Have a look at imaging (backup) software and decide which one has the best features for you, you will not regret it

All the best, woz of oz

I 've been using Macrium for 3 or 4 years now... It is so easy and wors fine !

Don't you believe it is possible to copy the image on a flash drive ? also it creates a securised way... I don't know, does-it work for restore ?

YES

All you need to do is point To the file to be restored

where ever it sits ...

externally or cd or flash drive

tho cd it would need to be less then 4 gb

and the flash drive would need to be 8gb + ???

As I do not give out nor ask

if its free then its no strings attached

nor info having to be given out...

to me its a scamm

gathering info...for so called its free

I still wonder the interpretation and There MEANING of the wording ITS FREE!!!!

not your fault woz its the scam I detest and the way its used Free

my understanding is I offer you something for "Free"

then you accept it that it I ask for nothing in return!

as I gifted you with a offer....would I want any thing in return...

that is why I have gone linux .this would not happen !!

thy ask nothing but offer ship loads ....AND is FREE!
