Turbo Boost and Biometric Service [FIXED]

Hi Guys

Just got ASC 5.1.0 Pro and I have a quick question. When I activate Turbo Boost and go through the stages, everything is fine until I saw that it stopped the Biometric Service (WbioSrvc).

As I use a government biometric reader I need to keep this service running. Is there a setting in ASC5.1 that will stop this from being disabled? I'd hate to have to go into Services.msc and restart the service manually all the time.

Thanks.

Mike.

Hi Michaelmknight. Welcome to the Iobit forums!

I cannot assist you with this without researching it... I am providing this link for informational purposes to all forum members so that it may help them to offer aid.

Somehow you must get any service labeled this way WbioSrvc ignored by Turbo boost.

Sincerely,

-Mel

Hi Enoskype!

I'm not doing anything different... my software may be behaving differently though. I was trying to guide michaelmcknight through turboboost so that he might find where it is disabling the biometrics.

I will look within my system for a solution to this issue of posting images. I will be back in a bit...

In the meantime can you help Michaelmcknight find the way for his biometrics to not be shut down?

Thanks a million!!!:mrgreen::mrgreen:

Sincerely,

-Mel

Mel, I saw all of your images fine. Can you see mine, as they are self hosted? If so, the problem probably lies with other users.

What I have on the screen you showed is in the following Screenshot. You will see TrueSuiteService and as you can see, it's unchecked as I don't want this disabling and it's also part of the Windows Biometric Service.

I saw both of yours without an issue. So I guess it's the other users that have a problem viewing images either from this site or certain image hosting sites.

I use Work Mode. I've also tried Game mode too and the same happens.

Iv'e gone through Turbo Boost with everything ticked, then disabled it and redid Turbo Boost with nothing checked, so ASC stops the service anyway, like it's a prerequisite setting. I'm aware than not many people actually use biometric equipment and the service runs as standard within a Windows environment but as I mentioned in my posts, there seems no way to prevent the service from stopping from within ASC5.1.

At the end of the day, it's not too big of a deal, as I can write a script that will check for the service being stopped and have it restarted.

Hi Michaelmknight.

I am going to ask a member of the Iobit support staff to view this thread. Thanks for your input!! I hope you will revisit this thread so that a solution may be formulated!:-)

P.S. I have noticed that one of my earlier images has disappeared even to me though it has not been moderated... most curious?

This is the image that disappeared in my post #4 here... even though I didn't delete the image. In my initial post... the image, even though uploaded... did not appear... so I reposted it and it appeared, then deleted my previous post. The image was available for awhile (as michaelmknight noted) and then disappeared. This was the image (in thumbnail) that was visable for awhile (hope it doesn't disappear again).

I have verified that my system is not compromised.

Hi michaelmknight,

Sorry for the inconvenience, our engineers have worked out a solution to fix this issue.

Please download the TurboBoostGame.dbd, then use it to replace the original TurboBoostGame.dbd in the installation directory of Advanced SystemCare.

Here is the TurboBoostGame.dbd download link.

http://www.wikisend.com/download/184694/TurboBoostGame.dbd

Usual Path: C:\Program Files (x86)\IObit\Advanced SystemCare 5

Please let us know the result.;-)

Fixed (almost)

Hi Cicely

Thank you for your reply.

I exited ASC5 backed up the old TurboBoostGame.dbd and replaced the new one your team created. It worked fine until I restored the Turbo Boost settings and then launched it again. I noticed that there is a Restore.dbd file also and wondered if this undid anything that the TurboBoostGame.dbd fixed.

Also, something weird happened. The Biometric service had stopped, but Windows Task Manager and Services.msc showed the service to be running, but when I opened the biometric services properties it shows the service had stopped:

Whilst in the Event Manager, it shows that the service has indeed stopped:

So we are on the right track.

Thanks to you and your team so far.

Mike.

Solved

I rebooted and ran Turbo Boost again. All seems to be working fine and the Biometric Service is running. I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if anything changes.

P.S. It seems weird my name being Michael Knight and we're talking about Turbo Boost!

Thanks to everyone who helped.

Mel, I can still see your image on Post #4 so it's either to do with your browsers cache or something else that you and maybe other people on here have running. I know that Adblock Plus and the NoScript extensions for firefox/chrome can prevent images being shown. Feel free to test my image upload page and link it to a post to see if they still vanish http://www.i.michaelmknight.co.uk

Hi Mel,

FYI:

The address f the image in your post #4 is:

http://forums.iobit.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9527&d=1329878401

It is seen as a square with red cross on it with IE9.

It is not seen at all with FF11.

The address of the image in your post #6 is:

http://forums.iobit.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9528&d=1329878860

It is seen as a good image as it should in both IE9 and FF11.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

When I insert your attachment in your post #13 , it is seen as:

http://forums.iobit.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=9529&d=1329882418

Cheers.

Thanks Enoskype and Michaelmknight!

I couldn't find anything amiss in my firefox. I had not cleaned the clutter in my machine for a couple of weeks. There was a huge amount of junk in my firefox files, I have cleaned them all and hopefully this will resolve the issue.:-)

Sincerely,

-Mel
