Suggestions / Wishlist for Smart Defrag

Hi people,

 

I'd like to add these features to the unofficial 'wishlist' for Smart Defrag... ;)

 

• In case of upgrade of existing installation, it would be nice if the current settings are kept intact. As it is now, the existing installation is totally uninstalled before the new version is installed - erasing all settings. It's not much work to re-do it, but it would be nice (and IMHO more professional) if settings are kept.

• Pre-Windows loader? I bet a lot of files are kept locked during windows operations, how about the ability to schedule an "On-Reboot Scan", which would execute before the Windows GUI is loaded? I've seen this on AVAST virusscanner (I bet more have that option) and PQMagic, and I think it would enable ISD to get "those last pesky files" defragged as well.

• SMTP notification? I use ISD also on machines that are left alone and unattended for a period of time, running ISD on daily basis. I think it's more efficient to have it run daily for 10 minutes then to wait for the weekend and have it run an hour - and it would be nice to receive the HTML or text report in my mailbox upon completion of the scheduled task.

• Color scheme? I'm no master-painter here, but I can clearly see that the colors representing the HDD are a helluvalot different from the legend beneath it. See screenshot.

• Eyecandy: How about enabling the 'Maximize' button, so to plaster it all over the screen? Me be liking fancy colored and flashing things, and I bet more people do. Especially if you've got a system sitting around doing nutting in particular at the moment.
