How do I stop the GB3 Valentine's Day updater?

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Solbjerg said in the updater is a service, not a nag:

http://forums.iobit.com/showthread.php?t=11171&page=2

I agree that we should always keep our security-related software up to date. The problem I have with this nag/updater is

1. it misleads the user to think the update is in progress, when it is just a pop-up

2. I did not opt in to a reminder

3. I am already using other software for my malware/spyware detection and do not want to replace it with iobit software (per my profile)

So - before I uninstall Game Booster because I don't want this nag every time I boot up in the presence of an Internet connection and I find it more annoying than any possible theoretical reduction in performance, how do I disable it?

Thanks,

Phil

Hi phil.deluca, welcome to IObit Forum!

Since you have opened a thread under Game Booster section I assume that the problem is not in ASC 5.1 (5.1.0.196) (also not seen in your user profile) but in Game Booster 3.

Is your Game Booster's version 3.3.1?

If not, you can download it from the link in IObit Game Booster 3.3.1 is available! thread.

I would advice a Clean Install.

Please don't forget to untick "Execute at Windows Startup" under General in Settings window after you click the tools shape and Settings on the menu of the main GB GUI.

Cheers.
