I appreciate all your help Dave. The computer is still lagging quite a bit... Anything else we can do? Are any of the programs I'm running interferring with each other?

The only programs that will cause conflicts are running two or more AV's or two or more Firewalls.

To set a new Restore Point.

Click Start button , click Control Panel, click System and Maintenance, and then clicking System. In the left pane, click System Protection. If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation. To turn off System Protection for a hard disk, clear the check box next to the disk, and then click OK. Reboot to Normal Mode.

Clean out your temporary internet files and temp files.

Download TFC by OldTimer to your desktop.

Double-click TFC.exe to run it.

Note: If you are running on Vista, right-click on the file and choose Run As Administrator

TFC will close all programs when run, so make sure you have saved all your work before you begin.

* Click the Start button to begin the cleaning process.

* Depending on how often you clean temp files, execution time should be anywhere from a few seconds to a minute or two.

* Please let TFC run uninterrupted until it is finished.

Once TFC is finished it should restart your computer. If it does not, please manually restart the computer yourself to ensure a complete cleaning.

Hi Dave, hope your having a good holiday. I read and used most of the programs you suggested. I had trouble with Secunia shutting down and getting stuck with the online scan, but I tried the PSI and it worked fine. I ran adv sys care 5 and it found a lot of errors. My question is, should I use it to fix the errors? I just figured it best to ask you first. Thanks, Doug:-)

Hi douge73,

Please ask this question giving the details of the errors ASC have found in the ASC section of the forum after Superdave finishes the cleaning of your PC and releases you from this section.

FYI, generally, Security Experts does not advise Registry Cleaning.

As much details as possible about the ASC usage when details are found will help to decide what to do. For example if they are after using Deep Care (deep scan), some registry errors may have high risk deleting them. Reading the discussions and suggestions in the relevant section of the forum will reveal a lot of information.

Thank you and cheers.
