Urgent Help!!

This is exactly why we should not trust a program with beta version.

I have been using Advanced System care Pro5 (windows xp) and today i decided to try the beta version with anti virus.

After the virus scan, it detected 3 possible viruses (ASC pro5 didnt dectect them) one of them was within system folder (i think it was within system32).

I clicked to clean the virus and after reboot, none of windows applications will run!!!@#!@#$$%%%

I want to undo the process but guess what, ASC will not run either.

Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem other than re-installing windows xp?

Is there a file i can just copy from other windows?

Thanks for your help in advance.

Welcome to the forum yjcho03. :-D

Sorry for that inconvenience you had.

Without knowing which System32 file you have let to be deleted, there is not an easy solution.

I hope you have noted the names of the files.:?:

Without being sure, cleaning (deleting) a system file is not a good idea.

It could have been infected, or an FP.

Does your Windows start normally?

ASC 5 Pro didn't detect them because it does not have an Antivirus engine.

Cheers.

reset last known good

hi y,

you should try last known good option on boot by using F8/F10/F12, long time since ive used xp.

then use the rescue function in asc/av.

Hi yjcho03,

YES. Please try to run your computer in Last Good Configuration or Safe Mode.

After you enter the Windows, please open ASC with Antivirus and go through More -> Settings -> Antivirus -> Quarantine. The default settings is "Quarantine threats when remove them", so the deleted system file should be in the Quarantine. Please restore the file in Quarantine and then zipped this file with a password and send it to avfeedback@iobit.com.

Or you can upload this file to wikisend.com and give us the download link.

We will confirm whether it is an infected file or a false positive made by our program.
