  1. Hi cabogal, enoskype and Melvin...

    ...so that I can see all the details of the Registry Entries it wants to fix. I don't understand why you've changed this. I am not going to waste time hovering over each and every item to try and read the details to determine whether or not I want to delete an item.

    I agree with you on this... There is a work around in the toolbox... though a user shouldn't have to work around.:shock:

    I think the workaround Mel mentions is to run Registry Cleaner tool in the Toolbox of ASC6.

    All the high and low rated registry entries can be seen in full screen there.

    Enoskype is correct concerning the toolbox and a workaround.:-D

    I also agree with cabogal :mrgreen:

    And on Windows 2000 it's even worse:

    I have to try and read the details without the use of the scrollbars. They are not there!! :roll:

    @enoskype: The Registry Cleaner tool is not available in the free version. :cry:

  2. Yes. also true for w2k. So, also from me: Thanx for the registry fix.

    Regards,

    Jeroen

    Hi solbjerg,

    I think the glitch FatalError is mentioning is a bug in Toolbox=>IObit System Control tool program for Windows XP.

    Using the checkboxes in :

    IObit System Control=>General Settings=>Display=>Desktop=>Display shortcuts of the selected items below on the desktop,

    creates the shortcuts on desktop, but unchecking them do not clean the shortcuts from desktop.

    The solution is changing the entries in Registry.

    For Administrative Tools: cannot remove administrative tools icon from desktop

    Export (save to the Documents folder), and then remove the below key.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\EXPLORER\DESKTOP\NAMESPACE\

    {D20EA4E1-3957-11d2-A40B-0C5020524153}

    For Network Connections:

    Check if you have the following in the registry.

    Export (save to the Documents folder), and then remove the below key.

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MICROSOFT\WINDOWS\CURRENTVERSION\EXPLORER\DESKTOP\NAMESPACE\

    {992CFFA0-F557-101A-88EC-00DD010CCC48}

    Cheers.

  3. Excluding results from Privacy Sweep?

    When for Opera the History option is selected, these files show up in my Privacy Analysis Report:

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\global.dat 3,74 KB

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\download.dat 12 bytes

    C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Application Data\Opera\Opera\profile\sessions\autosave.win 5,10 KB

    Apart from the question whether it is justified that these files get selected for removal:

    I am definitily not content with IObit's decision not being able to exclude results from the Privacy Analysis Report!

    Why restrict the user in this way?
