Is the method recommended above free? if you forgot Windows 7 password , it including some free way to reset password , like the CMD (Command prompt) ,it can be used to scan the operating system and user can reset password of local user account , you can reset a new account password and use it to login computer ,

I also lost my protected folder password...and i will try the steps as u given above to reset the password, hope it works!
