  2. Run an Update of your QuickBooks Desktop Application

Keeping your QuickBooks software updated can prevent a wide range of technical loopholes at bay. Follow the below-listed steps to complete the update process-

    • Verify that you are using the latest version of the QuickBooks software by visiting Update to the Latest Release page.
    • On the update page, your QuickBooks product should be picked automatically. If not, tap the Change button and then choose it manually.
    • Now you will be asked to choose between the two methods to update QuickBooks. Make the appropriate selection and move to the next step.
    • Wait for the update to complete and then restart QuickBooks.
    • Examine that QuickBooks error OLSU-1024 is fixed or move to the next solution.

  3. Calling the support line on front page and trying to make a purchase the call was confiscated by people with thick accents wanting a lot of personal information and asking me to make a remote connection to them

Scammers often pretend to be someone you trust, like a government official, a family member, a charity, or a company you do business with. Don’t send money or give out personal information in response to an unexpected request — whether it comes as a text, a phone call, or an email.

  4. been building computers for 20 years, I have run system care(not their virus/malware software) for many years along with Malwarebytes, once I listed it to ignore system care everything was fine, I use nortons for my virus work and all 3 work well together. The reason thai laptops are slow is becaue the stores tend to load a heap of pirate ware onto them and that is what the customers want, they do not want to pay for the registered software, even the windows they load is a pirate copy unless it was free with the laptop. My wife bought a new one for work and I had to delete a heap of crap programs that were slowing it down a hell of a lot, yes a ssd drive does speed things up but lacks the storage room in most cases unless you want to spend a lot more, depends really what you do on your pc as well as how often you use it. I do a lot of work on mine(2 hard drives), pics, writing etc and find everything works fine for me, drivers are updated and never had a problem with them, malware is restricted, dont have bugger all problems some are making out but then I do pay for all my software and dont use freebies or pirated stuff, think it boils down to what each person wants or likes, to each his own.

  6. The number one rule, if you find yourself infected with ransomware, is to never pay the ransom. (This is now advice endorsed by the FBI.) All that does is encourage cybercriminals to launch additional attacks against either you or someone else. However, you may be able to retrieve some encrypted files by using free decryptors.

To be clear: Not all ransomware families have had decryptors created for them, in many cases because the ransomware is utilizing advanced and sophisticated encryption algorithms. And even if there is a decryptor, it’s not always clear if it’s for the right version of the malware. You don’t want to further encrypt your files by using the wrong decryption script. Therefore, you’ll need to pay close attention to the ransom message itself, or perhaps ask the advice of a security/IT specialist before trying anything.

Other ways to deal with a ransomware infection include downloading a security product known for remediation and running a scan to remove the threat. You may not get your files back, but you can rest assured the infection will be cleaned up. For screen-locking ransomware, a full system restore might be in order. If that doesn’t work, you can try running a scan from a bootable CD or USB drive or auto clicker.

If you want to try and thwart an encrypting ransomware infection in action, you’ll need to stay particularly vigilant. If you notice your system slowing down for seemingly no reason, shut it down and disconnect it from the Internet. If, once you boot up again the malware is still active, it will not be able to send or receive instructions from the command and control server. That means without a key or way to extract payment, the malware may stay idle. At that point, download and install a security product and run a full scan.
