Smart Defrag 2 newest version install problem

* Windows 7 HP/x64;

* ASC Pro Ultimate;

* Downloaded the newest version, from MajorGeeks, Smart Defrag 2;

* Used ASC Pro Ultimate's Uninstall program to uninstall prior Smart Defrag 2, including the advanced menu offering;

* Attempted, multiple times, to install newest version;

* Received error message 183. Unable to change name due to its being used...;

* Could not find out how to "quit" or "turn-off" ASC Pro Ultimate.

 

Any help or ideas will be appreciated! Thanks!!!

Hi Bubba Euler,

 

Did you check the Task Manager if anything concerning Smart Defrag is still in running processes such as SDInit.exe.

 

Please kill any process in Task Manager concerning Smart Defrag before running the SD setup file.

 

In the mean time, before installing, you can stop Real-Time Protection of ASCU from the main GUI.
