For some reason,since installing this product, my desktop window opens at startup. Any idea how to prevent this ?

you mean your desktop file? you can try looking into the startup items and finding it. you can use asc3 to do it in admin tools.

asc3 is advanced systemcare3, the main product for this company :mrgreen: open it, click on the button that says 'Utilities' and click 'admin tools'. find 'startup manager'. then uncheck the thing that you think is it. and press apply.

However, the folder isn't listed there. Any other ideas would be gratefully received

okay, first of all, did you run the program(fix stuff) before you had the problem? second, could you post a screenshot? third, try uninstalling the program and see if the problem stays.

I did run it yes. I do not know how to take a screen shot, sorry. I uninstaled and it stopped

delete the folder(it still remains. C>Program Files>Iobit>Advanced System Care3) and reinstall it without doing anything. does this still happen? if not, you can use it with 'system optimization' unchecked.
