we have a sony vaio laptop no O/S disc supplied running xp pro media centre keeps asking to place in the disk containing [VAIO_VEDB] AND CLICK OK.

 

At a loss on this one sony support forums shows question asked before but unanswered by sony support.

 

tried google which shows a similar named trojen but all my scans come back ok so think a utilitity may have deleted a sony dll or file.

 

last resort on this is a restore an image from hidden partition taking it back to factory settings of a few years ago.
