System backup - Do I really need a floppy disc and can I make one retrospectively?

Hi all

 

I've just found the backup utility in this and did a backup of my new system.

 

When it had finished it told me it couldn't make a boot disc, because there was no floppydisc inserted.

 

I am just about old enough to remember floppy discs :wink: but my new system doesn't have a floppy drive - nor will most peoples'!

 

How can I make it use a CD for the boot disc and is there an option to make a boot disc on its own -without doing another backup?

Hi Robert,

 

Please go to this Microsoft page and choose the appropiate one which fits to your OS. You will find alot of information there.

Backup utility used in ASC is a Microsoft utility anyway.

you can always buy a usb external floppy drive.

should have added its best when backing up to clone or image your C Drive rather than just files.
