hanging on scan

When scanning with AdvWinCare2, hangs on Privacy Sweep with a particular program showing (Electric Quilt.5.rar.lnk). Any suggestions as to how I can get past this ? Would like to keep EQ5 program and would like to keep the Privacy Sweep active. How?

Keeping Privacy Sweep active will not do anything to your program EQ5.

 

Electric Quilt.5.rar.lnk is most probably in your hard disk at:

"C:\Documents and Settings\[Your User Name]\Recent" folder.

(In Folder Options, "Show hidden files and folders" must be checked to see the folder.)

 

It means that you have recently clicked your "Electric Quilt.5.rar", and there is a shortcut to this file in your "Recent" folder.

 

Go to this folder and manually delete this shortcut.

There is no harm doing that.

Whenever you click "Electric Quilt.5.rar" file, it will be created again.

 

If you have installed the program EQ5 after extacting the files in the rar file, there is a little chance that you are going to click it again.

 

Try Privacy Sweep (only) again and see if it hangs.

Repeat the procedure for hanging shortcuts.
