"updating" but never installing any new version

hello

software updater is telling me that Malwarebytes has a version 5.1.3.110, but when searching for new update in the application itself it finds nothing, and when I update with Software Updater, it does install something, but then malwarebytes opens being at the same version it was earlier (4.6.13.324)

it does the same for PotPlayer, my version is 240509, PotPlayer tells me I am on the latest one. Software Updater shows me a new 240514 version, and updating does install something, but at the end the softwarae is still on 240509, and it still shows in Software Updater that both software have to be updated
 

why is this happening ?
