Can't get rid of icons

I have installed and ran Smart Defrag 1.20 and now cannot get rid of the Install icon on my desktop, nor can I close the window on bar at the bottom of my screen

 

When I try to delete the Install Icon, I get a message" Cannot delete Defrag setup. It's being used by another person or program yada, yada! There are no other programs running!

 

Can anyone out there help me?

I ment details such as OS, security software, your user permissions, Hardware details, etc.

 

Can't you kill the process in Task Manager?

Can you attach a screenshot?
