iPhone won't sync

It seems everytime I run the ASC Pro, I think it's when an update comes out, iTunes no longer recognizes my iPhone4. I can't sync it without removing iTunes, and reinstalling, which means about 5 hours of syncing to get my music back on the phone. Windows still knows it's there and asks to sync photos, but iTunes does not start, and even when I start iTunes manually, the iPhone is not recognized. Any help?
