I been testing with Diskeeper for three to four years, my question is. on default ASC is set to skip huge files over 1GB. is there an certain reason for this? and should i uninstall Diskeeper or will ASC disable it auto?

Hi Johnny,

 

You don't have to uninstall Diskeeper for SD or ASC.

 

ASC will not disable it automatically.

 

The effect of skipping, defrag of fairly large files such as 1GB -10 GB will be negligible to the performance of PC, and infact, skipping those files considerably reduces the defrag time.

Also, sometimes it is not possible to have a contiguous free space as big as say 5GB, and couple of fragments in such a file will not effect the performance.

 

Of course, it is a personal preference.

Thank you and Merry Christmas everyone, I can see on smaller drives, but now adays with the Big drives coming into play it might be helpful, and than again, like you say it's up to us to decide. and I know it can make a big differance how you set it up each PC is differant
