SmartDefrag very slow on external drive

I really like smartdefrag, its fast and keeps my pc running smooth while not slowing it down when running in the background. but ive found that it takes far longer to defrag my external drive (sata drives taking about 20mins, external drive taking 5 hours or more) as well as only defraging about 1% of the defraged files.

 

the windows defragger runs fine on my external drive. so i would like to know if smartdefrag if going to be uodated to fix this problem.
