How to set a program to run at startup

I have tried to use the Start up manager in the Toolbox to automatically run a program that requires the file it is to run on the command line after the form:

 

Progname C:\Progname\subdirectory\fileName.filetype

 

There seems to be an objection to :\ / and a number of other characters so how do I enter the fileName with the path?
