Shredder at 186% complete not finished

I started to delete a mp4 video file with 35 times pass option. It was very slow as I know it is suppose to be. I believe it was originaly only a couple MB.After recovering it I noticed it was 7.19GB. I guess it was uncompressed. I am shredding it in the DoD 5220.22-m(ECE) mode-7 passes. The shredding function appears to not want to stop on its own as it is indicating that it is at 186% current progress and total progress and still going. I noticed the available size of hard drive left is 7 GB less than it was. Is it going to go to 700% then stop or is it not working right ? Thanks.
