ASC 4 (free) killed IE & Firefox

I ran ASC ver 4 free version on Win XP Pro in safe mode last night. It improved my internet settings. When I restarted XP normally neither IE or Firefox can access the internet. Other programs and email clients can access normally.

Any ideas on how to reverse this?

How I recovered from asc4 disaster

 

Reboot back into safe mode and do a system restore to a date before installing ASC4. Don't try to do system restore from within windows with ASC4 running.

 

After recovering a working system, delete all traces of ASC4 and install a copy of ASC version 3.8.

 

If you can't do a system restore then try one of the many other registry repair programs after un-installing ASC4

put ie and ff settings back to normal and report connection type here so they can fix it..
