rubbish files???

hello i have a question.....i did disk explorer and it came up with a ton of rubbish files what are they and am i supposed to or can i delete them? they seem to take up quite a bit of space on my pc. on drive D: i only store music, pics....alot of pics, and word docs. there are no programs on it and there are more rubbish files than pics.....
