  1. It is just that I am wondering why all these problems occur. I haven't had any, and that suggests that it must be different configurations on either the machine or the program details - or different install proceedings that are the culprit in these instances. As I mentioned it might be some administration/service settings, but it will take a long time to go through them one by one. Recommandations for configuring them (and explanations) can be found on the Internet in several places. If you should find where your problem lies - please then post your findings - it might help others. Cheers
  2. Do you have an anti-virus program? Did you configure AWC correctly before running it? Check under all details? Did you install it correctly? Did you have the personal version beforehand? Sometimes updates will not install, because of a too security minded setting in Administration Services, it might be mentioned in the log in Administration. With the multiple problems you are having, I doubt that it all is due to Advanced windowsCare. Good luck
  3. Very good! I have sent you an attached file to your home/business address Cheers
  4. Take a look at the post named " Install-Uninstall-Reinstall" and try the suggestions there to see if that helps. Good luck
  5. Old "clutter" from previous installs had better be removed. Remember that a defragmentation requires at least 15% free space on the harddisk
  6. Install – Uninstall - Reinstall – Upgrade to newer version Install: An install from a downloaded file always starts with a download. The best way today (if not always) - given the security measures that came in with SP2 - is to download the file to a folder in (on) your computer. Scan the folder for virus with your antivirus application. Right click on the install file and choose (Properties) Remove the blocking from the file. Then click on the .exe file and Install it. After the install - check the configurations and settings in the programs and in the add-ins and choose those you need or want. Then run it – AND check ALL Details under each post - before running the repair! Set it as you think you need or want. Remember that you can use the Ignore list to keep items you do not want to clean out! If you do it like that, there should be minimal chance of something going wrong. Uninstall: If you encounter problems you can't solve, it is often a good idea to uninstall the program and install it again. The way to do that with the least chance of something going wrong is to – uninstall – and then remove the AWC folder – after that I recommend that you clean up your registry with another application (for example CCleaner) - then install the newest AWC download version from step one. Reinstall / Upgrade to newer version: If you do not have any problems with your AWC it should be sufficient to download a newer version and install it without removing the previous one. (It's done automatically by the Install program) That way all your settings will continue as before. If you have problems follow the Uninstall procedure As detailer supplemented: Make sure that no application in the program or the program itself is running in the background, when upgrading or installing/uninstalling. To make as few mistakes as possible, I think it is the most prudent course of action to leave the automatic functions unchecked, until one has familiarized oneself with the functioning of the program and have configured the details and placed ones preferences in the ignore list. After that feel free to use the automatic functions, - but remember to deactivate them before upgrading or reinstalling a program. Ccleaner can be found here: http://www.ccleaner.com/ it's not the only one around, but it is nice and can be downloaded for free
  7. That's just it Dave! Well done! Cheers

  9. Do you mean the point where you installed the Operating system?
  10. Hi You do not say what system you have. Does the rest of the program work? Off the cuff I would suggest that you uninstall the program - remove the leftovers from the uninstalling - that is to say the folder, - do a restart to be quite certain that all is configured to the new configuration, - and then install the program again. Good luck
  11. hello Mara- What language version are you using? I think enoskype has all the latest versions. In the English language file Under [Message] you find: post number 30=Items found, 32=No items found, 43= No files found 5=Advanced WindowsCare is still running Do you have those? What file is it that won't accept your decision about it's status as an ignored file?
  12. I find systen analyze a very useful tool too. It is very time consuming to check the settings manually. But you are right, it would be nice to have some more options built into it. As for sfc /scannow I do not find it hard to write that myself in the run-box, but a reference to it and a small explanation might be a good idea, as many people doesn't know about it. Best regards and greetings from solbjerg
  13. Hi Samr I agree totally with you, except that I don't know anything about Zone Alarm, but otherwise it is my sentiments too. I also find, that when IObit put such an excellent tool up for free, I feel that I want to give back something, and I started by translating English to Danish back in Nov.2006 and have joined the forum in May 2007. greeting from solbjerg
  14. I would suppose that you have to take a closer look in Details under System Analyse
