Older laptop that I still keep alive, and with slow start-up I'm guessing its a RAM issue. Any insight would be appreciated.

Hi turbousa999... welcome to the Iobit forums!

I see several issues.

0401 - Total Memory : 1013.90 MB

0402 - Free Memory : 297.71 MB

0403 - Total Pagefile : 2.38 GB

0404 - Free Pagefile : 1.71 GB

This is high memory usage (percentagewise). See if you can limit your start up programs and services (cutting off auto updaters and stuff as well in your softwares)

Have you tried to run a chkdsk? Let us know if you don't know how.

These are Windows related errors... have you been struggling with your windows... it not cooperating sometimes or sections of it not working properly?

Sincerely,

-Mel

EDIT: Perhaps suggestion of chkdsk /R instead of plain chkdsk could be a better choice!

Too bad you have two 512 MB cards.:-( It would be cheaper if you had an open slot to add more memory. Your processor is much better than your memory configuration as it is dual core. Have you considered spending $50 on two new memory sticks? You may be able to get it up to 4 gigs (depending on the type of memory) Even if you just change one stick you may be able to get it up to 2.5 Gigs (around $30).

Have you tried using the SmartRam tool from the Iobit Toolbox? It may help... if you utilize the automatic function, make sure to turn off the "clean clipboard" option in the settings or your Copy/Paste function won't work properly.

Sincerely,

-Mel
