System Optimization freezes up when running Deep Care. The whole scan stops at that poin. Is it the program or my computer?

It may likely be a bad install.

 

Please do a clean install of ASC using the guidelines here and here.

If this doesn't fix then please post back.:-)

P.S. You do understand that support for your OS has ended? If MS has ended support then how long will it take the others to follow?? I urge you to save all your personal data and upgrade your OS while you can... (save your personal data that is) . As it is not clear in your member details... do you perhaps have your personal data on a seperate HD (hard drive)?
