Real-time Protection error

My tool bar icon for ASC has an ! in a red circle over it, and when I right click it, it shows the RTP is of. When I click on 'turn on RTP', it closes the window, but the RTP isn't on. However, when I open up ASC and go to the Antivirus section, it shows it as being on, and I can't turn it off or on. I have the ASC Ultimate trial version. Is the trial over already?(I downloaded on Thanksgiving)
