ASC 6 Sartup Item Keeps Returning

I remove the ASC 6 startup item form the 'Run' key in the registry.

But when I do a registry scan and run the fix the item returns.

Is there a way around this?

I'd rather not have this start at startup.

Should we assume that you have de-selected and applied the "Load automatically at Windows startup" option in the Settings?

And, cleaned the registry afterwards?

Yes I did.

But, I unchecked "Startup items" in the scan and I believe tghat prevented ASC form putting the startup item back.

 

I'll keep an eye on it.

Profile conflict

 

Hi James,

Im somewhat confused according to your profile you are using ASC6 with anti-virus and running W8.

 

Now as i understand it W8 only allows 1 AV, if you use another then MS windows defender,(combined AV and antimalware) turns itself off.

so if ure using ASC with AV then everytime you boot-up the AV part of ASC goes into update mode and will replace any deleted registry keys it requires, and at the same time reset the to load at windows start-up.

So that it is upto date and protecting your comp.

Please confirm/update your CP so that i can help further.

No antivirus with my ASC 6. Only Windows Defender
