False Positive - btrez.dll.mui? [SOLVED by db 1288]

Recommended Posts

IObit Malware Fighter

OS: Windows 7

Version: 2.1.0.18

Define Version: 1286

Time Elapsed: 10:18:27

Objects Scanned: 993151

Threats Found: 1

Save Time: 15/11/2013 14:25:17

|Name|Type|Description|ID|

Trojan.Generic, FILE, C:\Program Files\WIDCOMM\Bluetooth Software\syswow64\ar-SA\btrez.dll.mui, 4115069

Not sure if this a false positive or not. Software has been on the p.c. since new...as far as I'm aware.

Any advice appreciated.

Regards,

Graham

Hi again Viffergb,

Probablys False Positive, but please update your IObit Malware Fighter 2.1 to version 2.2 from the link in IObit Malware Fighter 2.2 is released! thread. Then, also update your new IMF 2.2 to Database version 1287.

If the new IMF 2.2 report still shows a threat, upload the concerned file to VirusTotal and give the link of the result in your next post together with the link of the uploaded btrez.dll.mui file as zipped to Wikisend for IObit to further investigate the file.

You can use THIS post as an example.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers.

Hi enoskype,

Thanks for getting back to me.

Have done as you advised and updated to IMF 2.2 and updated database to version 1287, but it's still being reported as a threat.

Have uploaded the file to Virustotal and here is the link showing the result:-

http://goo.gl/Vw0MZi (no problems found)

Here is download link from Wikisend:-

http://wikisend.com/download/520604/btrez.dll.mui

Here is forum link from Wikisend:-

btrez.dll.mui

I have run a check on 'btrez.dll.mui' using 'Bullguard' and 'Malwarebytes' with both returning no problems found, so I've added it to the 'Ignore List' for the time being in 'IMF 2.2'.

Thanks.

Graham
