Icon and Shut Down Problem - Smart Defrag 3

I have experienced both an icon and shut down issue with the latest Smart Defrag 3.

 

These issues have occurred in Windows 7 SP1.

 

After installation of the free version of Smart Defrag 3, the shortcut icon picture and program executable icon picture do not show. The icon picture defaults to a windows generic program picture.

 

Also, after a full prioritized defrag, with the "shut down" after defrag option checked, the computer did not shut down completely. The icons disappeared from the desktop, and the computer stayed in that state until I initiated a restart of Windows. I did have a background theme running that changed the desktop wallpaper every 3 minutes and a screensaver that started every 6 minutes of inactivity. Not sure if that created the shutdown problem for Smart Defrag 3.

 

After the restart, the icons on the desktop reappeared, but the Smart Defrag 3 desktop shortcut and executable icon, still did not show their own icon picture.

 

Note: Changing the icon picture in the shortcut to another picture works, but changing it back to the Smart Defrag 3 program icon picture still resulted in a generic windows program icon picture.

 

Note: Uninstalling, cleaning registry, re-downloading the program, and re-installing Smart Defrag 3 did not resolve the issues.

 

Is there a fix to resolve these issues?

Create manually a shortcut for Smart Defrag. To do this click left on desktop and then new and choose shortcut.

By the way, what do you mean by "still did not show their own icon picture"?

 

2)For the issue about the "Shut Down", did you see the pupup to inform you that your PC is going to shut down?

 

3)Please download the tool from http://testdemo.iobit.com/InfoHelperV7.exe

 

Then double click to run this tool and click “Save report to Desktop”. You will get a zipped file IObit_Debug_Info.zip on your desktop. Please send it to us so that we can get the detailed information to look into.

Please re-install the latest Smart Defrag 3.2 from http://download.iobit.com/defragsetup.exe to see whether the icon can be restored.
