Adware is the number issue here I believe. Those people can really trick users with their installation interface. Making it appear that it won't push through if the option isn't checked.

Also,people need to really stay away from Cnet/download.com...

 

At least Majorgeeks TELLS you when to expect ad/malware! My Host File List (one of them anyway),DOES list those two sites as Ad/Malware and so I don't even try to dl from there.

 

Majorgeeks I am happy with...as well as filehippo,Softpedia,Sourceforge etc. :-)

I have noticed that the above sites now use down load managers, which I believe to be malware or adware. They will also down load unwanted tool bars and chance your home page. I was just there and had to restore my PC with a back up image of my OS.;-) Major geeks is my preference.
