In Windows Vista, System Analysis never completes. Have let run several hours but never completes. No error messages are displayed.

Can you tell me the version info? If you run AWC in Windows Vista, please make sure that the administration rights is required.

I am running Windows Vista Home Premium on a PC with an amd athlon 64 3000+ processor with 1022mb memory.

Yes, I run the program as administrator.

I mean the version number of AWC. :) I recommend you to download AWC v2.3 from our website and update your definition database file first.

Downloaded and re-installed the lastest version 2.3.0.726.

 

System analysis still runs but never finishes. At least not in 3 hours after which I canceled the scan.

Please try to download the lastest version of the definition database file and then have a try.

Took a while to find where to update the definition database but when I did it cleared up the problem.

I supposed that you downloaded AWC Personal v2.3 from http://www.download.com. I found that there is a problem for a certain PCType in windows Vista, it is caused by the definition file. So we updated it 2 monthes ago and the problem is resolved.
