This is my problem. The menu bar on few of my windows has white highlight which i don't know how it got there in the first place.

Hi tpan

I am not sure how it got there either, but you can get rid of it by right clicking your desktop, select Preferences and the fourth Tab from the left and refresh the setting use xp-layout.
