Where are downloaded installers stored?

In Settings -> General there is a checkbox for "Automatically delete downloaded installers/setup files after installation".

Just curious, where are the downloaded installers stored when they are downloaded?  I generally would like to keep these on a rescue disc/thumb drive in the event of disaster, and not having to hunt them down online would be a timesaver.

If you look in the General Settings you will see that it states where the downloaded programs are saved to.
The default location is.....Downloads folder.
You can also change the location where they are downloaded to.
So, if you uncheck the delete option, they will be in the chosen location.
