Advanced System Care Pro 3.2 erased my games

DCDan

Recommended Posts

Running Vista Home Premium 64bit. Upgraded Advanced System Care Pro to the latest version and it did not preserve my settings. One of the utilities eliminated my game executables (the game menu on the start menu opens directories but there are no games to open). They are nowhere on my machine.

Restore takes about .5 secondes to run (literally) and appears to restore nothing. The Backup directory is empty. I want my games back.

These are windows default games (minesweeper, solitaire, freecell, chess...)

Can anyone solve this for me?

Thanks.

Hi DCDan,

Go to folder :

C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32

For each of the following file, individually do :

Right click menu=>Send To=>click "Desktop (create shortcut)"

freecell.exe

mshearts.exe

winmine.exe

sol.exe

spider.exe

The shortcuts will be created on the Desktop.

Rename the shortcuts on "Desktop" respectively as:

FreeCell

Hearths

Minesweeper

Solitaire

Spider Soltaire

Open the folder:

C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Start Menu\Programs\Games

Do the following for each or all of the games' shortcuts on the Desktop:

Right click=>click "Cut"=>go to above folder =>Paste

You will find the shortcuts to your Games at the places where they were before.

I hope this helps.

Cheers.

Great enoskype

By me these are there too:

bckgzm.exe

chkrzm.exe

pinball.exe

Rvsezm.exe

shvlzm.exe

If it doesn't give a description when you point at the shortcut, right click on it choose properties and add a description yourself in the appropriate place.

Cheers
