Game booster not working on non-english Windows system

Recommended Posts

Hello

I don't understand why their is language file available for Game Booster, it can't detect non-english services properly anyway. When I start Game Booster under Vista Ultimate SP1 French, the only service I am proposed to close is "WebClient" and "Windows Search". The only two service that have the same names in en and fr version.

I don't understand the utility of the language files at all if it can't make the software to work properly! Maybe that i'm missing something too. :lol:

Pls let me know it it's the case :smile:

edit: thank you for this good software!!! :) (i only hope it will be soon available for my language :)

Hi pominator

There is a problem with the French language file in the program

Please go to this post: http://forums.iobit.com/showthread.php?p=15200#post15200 and exchange the French language file in the program with the French language file provided by enoskype.

It works, but as he isn't French, some words may need to be corrected.

You can do that yourself, read about how in: http://forums.iobit.com/showthread.php?p=12302#post12302

Cheers

The software french display is working ok with this file, but the software functions is not working correctly. The windows services names are not the same in english and in french, so the software can't detect the services to disable in non-english system :

I should see this (picture taken from another website) :

and i'm getting this :

Hi pominator,

How about changing and/or editing the English names of the services under the the sevicelists in GameBooster.ini file atached in this post, to the correspoding service names in French for only the relevant OS part, and using the new file instead of the original.

Please change the the first line:

Language=English

to:

Language=French

Perhaps, it will be an interesting experiment.

Please give feedback if you decide to try.

Thanks and cheers.

Changing the services names in the GameBooster.ini file is working :) (only tested somes) The first line is only changing the interface language however.

The first screenshot is not mine, I have take it from PCInpact news website for comparaison!

edit: maybe that this could be resolved by using service names instead of service full names : (sorry french screenshot)

  • 2 weeks later...

Full package to adapt to French on XP systems

This package contains :

1- A new translated french.lng file that does not generate an error and, I believe, is more to the point.

2- An adapted GameBooster.ini file where most of the English service names have been replaced with their French equivalent

(taken from an XP Pro French system)

Works for GameBooster 1.0

I have attached a jpg of the opening screen

Hope this helps

PS This post replaces 2 previous deleted posts
