Is it USB memory sticks you are talking about?

It isn't too good to defragment those directly, - the stick won't last as long if you do.

Better to copy the content to your computer, delete it on the stick, and copy it back to the stick - it will then be placed "defragged" on the stick and you can delete those files from your computer. This is quicker than defragging too.
