For my computer use only, and using Oxelon Video Converter, I regularly convert .flv clips to avi using the following parameters:

 

Video Codec MPEG2

Audio Codec MP3

FPS 25 ( I live in New Zealand PAL)

Resolution 320 x 240

Video Bitrate (kbits/sec) 768

Channels Stereo

Sampling Rate 44100

Audio Bitrate (kbits/sec) 320

Can I improve on these settings?

 

If I try to use the XVid codec, I get the attached Error message:

You can try to use Pavtube Video Converter, I have been using this Video Converter, not have this trouble like you.
