How can I temporarily disable ASC 3 Free version?

I'm trying to install IE7 & ran into difficulties. MS Support suggested disabling my anti-virus & anti-spyware (which I forgot to do). Have done that. I'm thinking I should also disable ASC? Is it necessary or not? If I should disable, how do I do it?

 

Then I'm on my way to the rest of troubleshooting the IE7 installation. Sigh!

Mozilla Firefox 3.5.2

IE6 SP3

You shouldn't have to disable ASC,or your security to install a browser.But,if you must,best bet is to navigate your way to System Services,and disable it there.MS support is not always as knowledgeable as we would hope.Have they asked for money yet? One other thing.Why the giant leap backward from FF3.5 to IE7? :-?
