One of the things that irks me very much is the practice of not supplying an Install disc when one purchases a new computer.

It ought to be mandatory that they do!!

one of the perks of building your own computer is that you have the original windows oem/retail disk, built my last two computers.

 

I agree all suppliers should provide the widows disc in the days of w98 it was standard practice, now only small outlets provide one.

 

I think it was some meddling by microsoft with the large makers that boshed giving out the windows disc as the saving in nominal.

 

in widows 7 the windows disc is no longer needed for SFC, which helps.
