Hello Casper, And welcome to the forum

first things first:

1.I see you ghad 2 Antivirus on your computer

+ Remove Avira Antivirus And KEEP Avast Antivirus!

Hi jelrikj

If you look at the scan report closely, you'll notice that Avast! isn't active. Not only inactive, but it appears to have been partially uninstalled. Only Avira running.

I detect a preference for Avast! on your part. Version 5 is better than the previous version 4, but I certainly wouldn't go as far as instructing users to dump Avira in favor of Avast! ; not yet anyway.

If the user goes ahead with your recommendation at this point, he'll most likely need to uninstall Avira and re-install Avast! all over again ; since there are Avast! leftovers, this may turn out to be a bit of a challenge...

Keeping Avira would be the wiser choice here, and then looking into getting rid of Avast! leftovers.

Hey casper!!

All this great wisdom, and friends ready and willing to help someone that asked for help, and then fails to respond when it is offered . Where are you casper?? Hey little ghost There are really smart people here wanting to help you. Have you been bad and mommy has taken away your PC privileges. I'm sorry friends, but this really up sets me. I will now go into read mode and say no more on this thread.:evil::evil::evil:

Hi Gary

I know what you mean. The thing is, this happens a lot with malware related topics ; people come to a forum and ask for help, then they disappear. Sometimes they read the answers, are satisfied, and leave without a word or... sometimes they post at another forum (or at multiple forums) and grab the answers they like. I don't have to tell you that this can be dangerous for their machines, following different help advice from different folks with different knowledge and techniques.

But sometimes they are just unable to return to the forum quickly, for multiple reasons.

Don't sweat over this one, Gary.. or else you may get ulcers ;-)
