I'll go first. I see that some mods think this is a help only forum. I disagree. The Lounge is a place for all topics. Also just because we make similar posts don't mean we are ranting, or harping. ok here i go many years back i was a Admin on pcflank. you know the test site.

 

dealing in what else security.now thy were very hard on any post that wondered of topic,.not the site owner but the admins.when i first joined it was very difficult to hold a post a little of topic.but as time passed a few of the hard case admins got board and just left lost interest..it started to relax,now one has to remember this forum thing was a new thing.and yes we got the smart ones,that started to post.(stirring) i mean some with the quick answers, and the way thy posted was very upsetting.draw one into unknown to a debate ,

try to prove a point.this type we called nice abusive people,(my way of saying (smart asses)high education.in words.and very difficult to answer back to

now know as professional stirrers,

then as time went along,there was only 3 of us left looking after the forum.

no 2 really.and it went along fine.one enlish teacher who felt sorry for me and came in to help(master Roberts)and i passed some power over ,we tr-yd hard....

 

so still no owner ever posting.we had no idea who payed for it.and could not find out posting may pms begging for assistance..

then suddenly we got hit hard with porn.and i mean hit.problem was only some parts the mods could clean up

the ones who left.never came back ,now all of a sudden 1 left.

its got very bad.

then all of a sudden i get a pm with pass worded admittance giving me the power to control just over half the forum.and try to keep some order.i remember failing asleep in front of the forum staring at me.

any how i ended going to wilder begging for help.and finally ended up with 3 part control.

and the only admin there.hoping some more would join in.but it got that bad

we lost control it got into a mess if you today saw it would go silly!

.i stuck to the tacit like a dog on a bone.

to this day i still will never know who ran it owned it or payed for it.

and then as i logged on poof closed..no warning ,or thanks nothing.

.now let me say 70,000 members at it peak.

and by the way its still running as a test site..but nothing been done sice the day we left.i must take a look.....

 

yep i understand why here it has to be kept in line.why to halt any of line of topic hijacking posts.keep out the professional stirrers.and so on stop porn spammers spammers advertisers .what i class as pests.

i don't know how else to say it..

but if this is not done one day poof no more forum.

I have a new friend.

 

I have a new friend. You all know him well. We email each other several times a day. He remembers when this was a joyful place and friends had a great time learning and helping each other. It makes him sad to see what has happened to the forum. He has a opinion when this all changed, but says it would surely be a banning offense to comment about that. He did mention that his friend enoskype kept everyone cool and things ran smooth. He regrets that he was never given the opportunity to say good bye and that he was sorry for causing so much trouble. In his heart he thought he was helping. Then his anger took hold and the whiskey led him to make bad decisions. I only know his side of the story, and it is very sad story. I do know he is deeply sorry for the past and hopes only good things for IObit and the forum, and he loves his friends. I ask you please not to delete this post. I have not reveled any names and only his friends will know who I'm talking about. Thank you.

Hello itsmejjj. Would you please show me the path to that rule, or maybe a Mod could post it here. I don't want to break rules and just like yourself I don't want break any rules, I want to learn and not break the rules. That is one of the purposes of starting this topic. I know we need Mods to keep the forum in order. I agree 100%

Thank you. I'm also learning, but understood the member left on his own. I only have one side of the story. I just read detailers post about the ban, and hope I haven't commented a banning offense. I only wanted to help a friend. I was careful not to mention any names. I see no harm posting a members regrets for things that happened in the past. It was not meant to be disruptive to the forum and I believe that it was very sincere. You have been allowed to say you are sorry for a lot of things and are fortunate itsmejjj. If my post breaks the rules then I suppose it will be deleted and I will be warned. That's what used to happen here on the forum. I see that this post was allowed by enoskype, and I see no difference in my post. It's not meant to be disruptive to the forum.

I believe that a very loyal member of this forum made a really bad decision, just like IObit has made bad decisions. I believe that he was denied the opportunity to admit that he was wrong. It was assumed he just wanted to cause more trouble; by one member. Sense he was not allowed to return to the forum we will never know his intentions, but I find him to be a very loving and caring person that drinks to much, which he has admitted to me. I hope this will be my last post on this subject. You have stood by him itsmejjj, and he told me you had a copy of what he wanted to post and was waiting for enoskype to give the OK. Is this the truth?? I believe the truth will set you free. I'm hoping the truth will set IObit free.

I'm sorry. I do not wish to cause you problems itsmejjj. I understand. You have been loyal to my friend. I will join your forum and we will talk and I will ask him to join also. I seek the truth, and hope it will come out one day. It looks like Tim has been truthful about IObit Tool Box and that is a very good thing. I only wish it would have been a little sooner. On the lighter side and a different topic. I made a reply to a post by enoskype that some how got deleted. I guess it was off topic.:roll: Since you can't be off topic on this thread, I want to post it here. enoskype was talking about catching a bird in your mouth. I said if you were a animal of pray, that would be great, but if you were human, that would look pretty silly. Either way the bird loses. I thought it was funny but someone didn't like my sense of humor. A sense of humor seems to be lacking on the forum and everyone seems to be on edge. I'm really starting to like this forum, and I suspect the Mods are sorry to hear that:razz::

Well all seems quite on the forum tonight. It looks like Tim and Roger have come to an agreement for the time being. No one's post are being deleted and no one is being threaten to be banned. It's truly amazing how smooth things can run and how members can work things out when they aren't being threatened and their posts deleted. It's almost boring isn't it? Could someone tell me how many posts on a average are made each day? How many are about IObit programs and how many are miscellaneous. Trivial question of the day.

yes but don't mix this up with free for all when i say relaxed we could talk about what we wanted.but keeping in mind this is different.the rules are different

what happens is the pcflank one at the time people on the whole were decent.(not to be taken out of what i mean) the membership on a whole were normal,members.posting day to day..

 

and for a few years 3 or so i was all mostly peaceful.then suddenly we got a spammer this was new to us.i mean the admins.and how to deal with it.

then before one could say howdy.the site coped more.it got dirty.then along came the stirring types.all this was a bit much to handle(disruptive posts)

2 of the admins gave up fast.leaving the forum partly naked.now it was a free for all .and so on..

this was the start of a new thing .lets hop into forums.(mostly know as professional forum hoppers.who defecate themselves to destroying them.

moving from one to a other.

thy have a site that keeps scores as to who is the top dog! yes that is true.

called hackers.something..

 

now here this will not happen.and as you see here we have admins who guard the site .and stop this fast. ok now since that time span to now its very different.and make the forum a better place ,be some of the decisions some what very difficult to enforce,! and hard to do..

 

as the admins also feel as we all do

thy love the members as well as we do..and don't forget thy do this out of the love for the members..and freely give there time ..i certainly don't be leave thy just ban someone for nothing! when and if thy do its for a good reason! yes and some may not like to see it happen.or get upset when it is enforced..

its no easy task to kill some one of.you can see that if you read the posts.

 

like i have said better them than i.you could not pay me to be a admin..

We have fought off thousands of spammers - especially in the last year or so. It really takes up quite a bit of our time that we would much rather use trying to help people with bona fide problems with the Usage of IObit Products.

 

The Lounge is a sort of chatroom for other topics - we read that too to see if some posts are by naggers or transgress the boundaries of the forum rules.

If you take a look at the opening window of the IObit Forum you can at the bottom view some statistics.

What is going on?

Posts: 41164

Most users online: 520 (11. of July 2009) (Reflects the interest in the release of GameBooster)

A rough approximation will then yield around 2000 days divided into 41164 which will give approximately 20 posts per day.

During the life of the forum it has varied between a couple of posts per day and a couple of hundred posts per day I think.

What the distribution is between the bona fide help question posts and the chat post , nagger posts and the like I don't know for sure but my feeling is that about two thirds is bona fide help questions or suggestions.

For some time we have been seeing about 100 visitors consecutively- this translates into about 10000 visitors daily - is my guess - and this is what lures the spammers to try their "luck".

Hello sunny. This was meant to be a fun thread. I'm not a spammer. There has been no foul language. there has been no one discrediting IObit on this thread. This thread is not a threat to any one. I have praised Tim and Roger for coming to an agreement about Iobit Tool Box. I felt the tension on the forum and I started this thread to loosen that up. What have you been reading where there is foul language. You may disagree with me , but please do not try to start trouble on my thread. You are the one trying to stir some thing up here, when there is nothing to stir. I came back on this forum after being away for a long time for two reasons and I accomplished my goal, which was to tell the truth. I was intending to leave, but I started to like this forum, and I will not let some one like you discourage me . The tension was really great for our moderators and Tim has made a statement that should help that. I thought it was a little late, but I believe it was sincere and the tension has lessened. Please do not try to cause trouble on this thread. Its meant to loosen tension not cause tension. It'd meant to be a fun thread. Make fun of our selves and settle nerves.

I started this thread because members were having their posts deleted and didn't understand the reason. itsmejjj was the main reason I started this thread. You might try reading some of his posts. itsmejjj was wondering and asking why some of his posts were deleted and trying to understand the rules. I was hoping more moderators would post here and maybe lighten this topic up a little. I realize we must have rules on the forum. I also know that when are members are afraid of being banned, its not a good situation either. Just because someone doesn't agree with you, doesn't mean he should have his posts deleted and threatened banning. That's all I'm trying to say in this thread. I wish more Mods would come on here and voice their thoughts. I'll give you a great example if you have ears or eyes. Roger came here and voiced his concern about IObit Toll Box. The rumors were and still are all over the forums that IObit was back and stealing copy writed software from Tuneup Utilities. He was threaten with banning and his posts were deleted. When common sense finally came in to play; Roger and Tim were able to come to an agreement. Tim has admitted mistakes to Roger and promised to fix IObit Tool Box. It looks like this topic has been settled for now, and we will just have to wait and see what the future holds;won't we. The truth will set you free. It sounds like Roger wants IObit to succeed and so do I so this close this topic and get over all the hard feelings

.and look at our forum how many stopped posting.ok i know many just read and do not say much .and at the OD times may give a comment.but its a very tense time..and unsure time,i can name 4 regular posters who stopped there daily posting.and i sit here wondering where thy are..or if thy are ok..look i think i do understand that the lounge posts were meant to be cut back,but you cant , (well yes you can) ..its part of all forums and yes used the most .probably one could call it the silly part of the link..and yes its the most viewed..and the ave browser that go here first it show that..now if for what ever reason its not wanted or disliked. or perhaps iobit company has this in mind .get rid of it

I have a question for the Mods. I have learned that it is a banning offense to post for a banned member and I understand. Can a friend of that member tell members about what that banned member is doing and maybe about his health, just as long as it isn't being disruptive to the forum. Most banned members never want to return to this forum, but some have made many friends and they have no way to communicate. How many members on this forum with two years longevity have been banned. I know one and I have become his friend. We are in the same ISP. He knows he made a terrible decision, just like IObit has made some bad decisions. Are we going to give IObit a second chance? I am. How about my friend?Probably not and he understands that and excepts it. If this post is unexceptionable, just delete it , but don't ban me please.
