Hi Jacko

It may be that some leftovers from the previous folder is mucking things up.

Please try a Clean Install - concept explained in the links in my signature.

Cheers

Hi, could anyone please tell me why my version of Game Booster does not defrag any of my files/folders?

Thank you

Major bug in GameBooster 1.6 (was also present in previous version).

If you use GameBooster in Window 7 64-bit, only the built-in Windows 7 games are available for defrag. Any game you install fails to be detected and cannot be defragged with GameBooster.

Hi I just updated from 1.51 to 1.6 and I've noticed that you have removed the DWM service. May I ask why? It was very handy to use going normal windows back to windows basic with a touch of a button. Would you be so kind to put it back? Or is it possible if I check the dwm.exe to disable then restart it with gamebooster? How can I do that? Please let me know I'd really like to put things back to the way they where.

Thanks!

-Jim

How to add DWM service to the GB 1.6 inclusion list for Windows 7!

Hi spieslikeus,

Run Game Booster, click Options, click Edit service list.

GameBooster.ini - Notepad window will be opened.

Under:

[servicelist_win7]

Please add:

UxSms=1

Save the GameBooster.ini file and restart Game Booster.

You will notice that :

Desktop Windows Manager Session Manager

will be available in the GB window.

If you want it closed, leave the check in the checkbox and Switch to Gaming Mode!

That's it, DWM service for Windows 7 will also be closed.

Cheers.

Hi bmelloni,

Have you tried clicking on Or click here to select a directory. link under Game Defrag tab to enable browsing to defragment your intended game?

Cheers.

That works fine, but the point is that all of the games that were automatically detected in Windows XP 32-bit do not get detected in Windows 7 64-bit... the most popular version of Windows 7. That is a serious bug.

Thanks to all the suggestions including " click here to select a directory"

These do not work. It seems a pity to have the option of defrag. on a program and it does not work. i have decided to discard the program altogether.

Once again thanks for your input.

Hi Jacko,

Don't you think it is too early to trow the towel?

Please give us information about your OS, hardware and security softwares.

Which other IObit softwares are you using? How is your HD's fragmentation condition all together? etc..

Were you using Game Booster only for defragmentation purposes?

Cheers.
