AWC Not Working

I have used this product successfully on 2 XP SP@ PC's. Recently got a new PC and installed it there. another XP SP2 machine, yet when I try to run the product it will come up the the scan srceen, but will do nothing else. It shows no System info, and if I click on details will show nothing. If I click on scan it also does nothing. I get no errors in the event logs it just doesn't do anything. shows up in the system tray but that is it... I have uninstalleed and reinstalled to no avail... any ideas...

try temp turning off security software to see if that is the cause.

 

or delete run ccleaner, delete folder in widows explorer, re start pc then try reinstall

My guess would be that you have to remove the blocking of the program.

 

Try to install it as I recommend in the post Install - Uninstall - Reinstall

I have no idea what may be blocking the program, if anything is... I get nothing written to the event logs, it just generates it's own error log, which tells me nothing... if there is anyone out there who can translate i'd be interested in knowing what it means... this worked fine in 2 almost identical PC's... I've reinstalled twice now with no change...

Hi jlhawk,

 

First, please use the most recent AWC which is AWC Personal 2.5.7.833, downloadable from here .

 

After download, check the properties of the setup file, if there is an option of "Unblock" button under "General" tab, click the button to unblock it.

 

You are using an old verion 2.01.754

 

After uninstall, clean, etc. as solbjerg says, Install it as an Administrator and Run it with Administrator rights.

 

 

Sorry, you can't. You can only run it under administrator account. Because if you want to do some "Repair", AWC can't access your computer with limited account.

Please tell me how you go about downloading the program and installing it.

And be sure to run the computer as administrator.

Have you earlier missed configuring "Details" in the System optimization?

That is to say not put anything in the Ignorelist?

Try right clicking My Computer - choose Properties, then choose the tab Advanced, click the button Settings under Performance and then choose

"Let Windows choose the best settings for my Computer"

This might help.

Did you do as I recommend in the post "Install-Uninstall-Reinstall" ?

 

The old version makes me think that there must have been an AWC folder present with some files in it when you Installed the new 2.60

Every time I have uninstalled/reinstalled this product I've completely stripped the old out. Removed the old folder, run ccleaner, even did a full registry search on the product, plus a reboot... I have no idea where it's getting this version info from, but I have way too much time in now trying to get this to work on this particular workstation
