IOBIT And LINUX!!!

 

YA bloody Ripper!!!

 

 

well Who said IT could not run Iobit ! I did Yes BUT IT will!!

I missed this program Running Linux! But am One Happy OLD man!!!

 

As I like trying different things Decided to run it As i use Wine the add on

Now got to thinking How can I scan it for Imposable threats?

I wonder if it can run IOBIT 360

 

having the install 1.50 version Got to thinking Give it a Try. Risky ? perhaps it was But then that's computing

So ok run it under the wine environment and Presto installed!

Ok so far So good .Now carefully Scan .and Boom found a heap of Trojans!

then decided to put them in Jail

Rebooted and every thing Booted Beautifully The C:]drive (WINDOWS that's placed under wine)

scanned and cleaned No problems! and the Wine Q4 ran perfectly..with the bad file locked Up

Now Trusting Iobit scan to Do its Job ,was perhaps risky? as this is not Your Normal windows OS .But thinking it runs as XP OR win 7 Environment ,Should behave the same as a normal windows OS .So why Not try it.

So now I wonder how to Update the definitions Not that i am worried one way or the Other as the data base is ! year old.and installed default. I am extremely happy It works Near 100%

ok now we pushed it more a full scan including the home folder and the drive!

 

results perfect!

 

found 4 more

 

ok now I will have to find a way to do a full back up (restore) then try out

(As i do not know How to Yet

Still learning.)

Install iobit Newer Versions

tho want to be very careful. not to flux up the Drive.

You can download at least IS360 definitions of 21st of April 2011 from IObit Security 360 Offline Database (April 21, 2011) post by me.

Yep have them,But the problem Is the main directory.

 

And cant copy past to the Drive (fake) its protected .one can UN install,install

even delete,But no copy past..

any how perhaps some one may know ?

 

Its fully in control by Wine application. it updates the drive as it grows. or when one feels one should by the warning given that it need to be tweaked.

 

other than that No problems.

ok installing XNview a dos program I kept I managed to copy past it to the folder

 

unfortunately its not working?

 

you think i should delite the core file ?

and just leave the added ones ?

 

by the way its shows current version as 1708(07/07/10-----162135

 

any how this has cleaned out a lot of junk any how and keeps doing so as I try out programs.

also use clam anti virus that works very well

Hi Mr Bean,

 

You have to replace core.def and Addition.def files with the ones in that zip file.

 

Find below a newer Addition.def in the Addition.def.zip file for May 06 2011 attached. Replace it to get the latest definitions available.

 

I would advise to use version IS360 1.61 downloding from Free Download at IObits web page though.

Dear Sir

 

thank you for the advice. I did what you posted and every thing is working as I hoped it should.

 

now have the 1.61

and ! 2508(05/06/11) lit up thanks to that little zip file!

 

and running on Linux perfectly.

 

By the way I did try The new one But it hung on scan (pity)

 

and dilated it completely reinstalled this version.

Iobit UN Installer tried this , and works perfectly as well

 

remembering its on Linux not windows I am speaking of..

 

the fake drive (but permanent Is not easy assessable )

and installing some apps that fail to run hard to rid of,but now a easy task!
