Deep Registry Fix: Damage Level High

Neale

Recommended Posts

New user, installed Pro version today. Mostly things seem obvious but there is one area I'm concerned about.

In Deep Care there is the 'Deep Registry Fix, Clean up registry in depth to improve PC Performance.'

This produces a list of around 4,900 entries, most of which are flagged with a 'Damage Level High'.

From the description it seems to be a warning that, if you delete them, there is a high likelihood that that will mess up the computer. So why are they listed? Most don't provide anything like enough information to judge if they are safe to remove or not.

Here's the listing of the first few entries:

Hi Neale... welcome to Iobit forum.

I would recommend that you NOT repair all those high risk items... that you repair the ones listed medium and low only...

ASC5 seems to be digging too deep in some cases. Some users have reverted to ASC4. I hope a less invasive version of ASC5 will be released soon. I suspect that the wide variety of OS platforms users are running on is part of the programmer's challenges.

I bet that after you run repairing only the medium and low, and re-scan; you will have less high risk items reported... curious to see if that's the case?

Sincerely.

-Mel
