Honeymoon

Hi all

I like the notion that honeymoon should be a month drinking mead.

In Danish it is called "hvedebrødsdage" (days of white/wheat bread - as opposed the the normal fare of rye-bread)

 

The first reference I have seen is from Deuteronomy 24:5

 

When a man hath taken a new wife, he shall not go out to war, neither shall he be charged with any business: but he shall be free at home one year, and shall cheer up his wife which he hath taken.

 

So this has been subjected to a lot of deflation over the years :-)
